It’s your community. Make it great.
United Way’s Youth Venture is a civic engagement and entrepreneurship program that empowers young people to envision, create and see the impact of their own youth-led social enterprises. Youth Venture empowers youth and encourages them to see that everyone can be a social entrepreneur.
In 2015, thanks to a grant from the Citi Foundation and America’s Promise, we expanded Youth Venture in partnership with the City of Boston to serve 300 youth in Boston ages 16-20. We invest in teams of youth to develop, launch, manage and sustain community-benefiting projects, and provide them with ongoing training, mentoring and financial support to actualize their ideas. Working with industry leaders in the fields of marketing, technology, community development and finance, the program provides experiential learning opportunities to youth that builds readiness for jobs and careers through communication and project management, leadership and teamwork.
