COMMUNITY-CENTERED CRISIS RESPONSE
RESPONSE FUND

Unstable federal funding and shifting policies are threatening the reduction or elimination of food assistance, specifically SNAP benefits, for thousands of households across the Commonwealth. Beginning November 1, new eligibility and reauthorization requirements are in effect that will cause individuals and families to lose their current SNAP benefits. In partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United Way is continuing help organizations and communities respond by strengthening the local food access network and providing flexible support to households in crisis. This is just one example of how federal changes are threatening the safety net and support systems thousands rely on. United Way is built to rapidly respond to crises – quickly, strategically, and at a scale that is greater than what any individual organization can do alone.
