COMMUNITY-CENTERED CRISIS RESPONSE

UNITED RESPONSE APPLICATION

WE'RE MOVING FAST TO STABILIZE & SUPPORT

Unstable funding, shifting policies, and economic uncertainty are threatening the support systems thousands rely on. United Way of Massachusetts Bay is built to rapidly respond to crises – quickly, strategically, and at a scale that is greater than what any individual organization can do alone.

UWMB United Response Fund Grants

The UWMB United Response Fund will provide funding up to $50,000 to community based organizations for Partner Stabilization and Family Emergency Financial Assistance (FEFA). This fund is not meant to completely fill losses from federal government grants which can not be replaced, but is intended to sustain critical supports and mobilization efforts.

UNITED, WE WILL

STABILIZE

To stabilize our partners we will provide flexible operating funds to support local community-based organizations and the new, unexpected and emerging needs impacting them. These resources will enable them to focus on sustaining critical services and meeting the needs of their communities, despite stretched budgets and staffing resources.

SUPPORT

Through Family Emergency Financial Assistance (FEFA) we will deploy emergency support to individuals and families to address new, vital basic needs that are emerging in unprecedented ways. With critical safety net programs such as SNAP, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, Head Start and Medicaid under real threats, the need for philanthropy to step in will be even greater.

We will disburse funds monthly until the end of 2025 or until the Fund is depleted. To qualify your organization must be: • A community-based organization working in one of these focus communities: Attleboro, Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea, Haverhill, Lawrence, Lowell, Lynn, Malden, Quincy, Revere, Salem, Taunton • Serving at least one priority population • Providing critical services • Impacted by federal actions Additionally, if you are applying for Family Emergency Financial Assistance you must show experience and infrastructure for direct cash transfers.
