March 14, 2014
Earlier this week, leaders from United Way Worldwide presented Waltham-based Constant Contact, a leading provider of online marketing tools for small businesses and nonprofits, with a United Way Partnership Award.
Through a partnership established in 2008, Constant Contact provides in-kind access to community-based United Way offices around the world. Locally, they have supported youth initiatives and our community’s future entrepreneurs, through United Way’s Youth Venture program, which empowers local teens to launch social entrepreneurship projects. Constant Contact also been a sponsor of our annual Emerging Leaders gala.
“This partnership helped bring United Way into the Internet Age and is one of our most highly-valued partnerships,” said Stacey D. Stewart, U.S. President, United Way Worldwide. “Over the course of six years, the United Way network has been using Constant Contact to build stronger relationships with 3.5 million supporters and their communities.”
“This award is truly an honor to receive, and a testament to the meaningful relationship Constant Contact and United Way have built over years of working together,” said Alec Stern, Vice President of Strategic Market Development at Constant Contact. “Local staff and volunteers in hundreds of communities are proving online marketing tools can help forge relationships with supporters, increase donations and inspire action. We are inspired by their work and are proud to have played a role that positively supports their efforts.”
Stern, leading by example, has served as a Youth Venture panelist several times, volunteering his time and giving students feedback on how to best launch their innovative projects.
“Constant Contact is determined to make a meaningful and lasting difference in our customers’ communities,” said Reed Bundy, head of corporate social responsibility at Constant Contact, “We know how critical our solutions are to small businesses and how powerful they can be for nonprofits and associations.”
