Year in Impact: A Unique Partnership Helps Kids Start School with Success
Last summer, for the first time, United Way partnered with NBC Boston, NECN, Telemundo Boston and other NBC- and Telemundo-owned television stations and other nonprofits, to raise donations of supplies and cash to make sure kids are set up for success. Together we helped 315 students in our region.
The list of back to school shopping can seem never-ending, and these small items add up to big costs very quickly. For a lot of families and schools in our community, it becomes a big financial burden when you already have tight budgets and are struggling to make ends meet. But this doesn’t only affect the parents. When kids come to school unprepared, it can impact their work and school success in many different ways.
