Plug Into the Community with Volunteer HQ

United Way’s brand new volunteer engagement program is built for maximum community impact.

$200,000. That’s the estimated yearly value that United Way volunteers bring to the community through the lending of their talents, time, expertise and, occasionally, ability to successfully operate a pressure washer.

Volunteerism is a key component to United Way’s vision of making lasting change and to connect even more people to rewarding, impact-rich opportunities throughout the region, United Way has launched a brand new hub of volunteerism: Volunteer HQ.

Volunteer HQ provides local non-profits with the tools to create profiles and list opportunities and events. New events and opportunities are added frequently and special “Spotlight Opportunities” from United Way signature initiatives show up on the front page.

Would-be volunteers can browse by zip code and issue area, peruse the agency and listings, then create an account and sign up for opportunities. From then on, volunteers have their own profile with a history of their participation and the impact they have made in their local community.
