“United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council has given me the opportunity to meet and engage with incredible women while creating positive change in the community.”
Founded and led by women, United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council (WLC) is like no other women’s group in the world and honors the power and influence of women in philanthropy. For more than 20 years, WLC members have been coming together to help create the next generation of leaders. Globally, we’re the largest women’s philanthropic organization of our kind – with almost 70,000 members and more than $1 billion raised.
Locally, our mission is simple: Create Tomorrow’s Leaders by mobilizing the collective power of women. Our more than 1,200 members are actively creating opportunities for children and young people: stemming summer learning loss, creating valuable summer youth work experiences, and funding scholarships that help remarkable young people become the first in the family to attend college.
Throughout the year, the WLC offers fun networking opportunities, inspiring educational events, and hands-on volunteer experiences.
