Truck? Stuffed.

“Fire truck!”

This was the squeal heard over and over again this past Saturday at the joint UPS/United Way “Stuff a Truck” for Dover Children’s Center. Even a blustery rainy day couldn’t keep kids away from the bright lights and loud sirens of the Dover Fire Department trucks, or from the custom-painted fire decals on the UPS Flame Truck.

Thanks to the leadership of Ed Spuler, UPS Package Center Supervisor, the first ever “Stuff a Truck” for Dover Children’s Center was a success. For a small donation of cash or school supplies, children were given a rare behind-the-scenes look at the life-sized versions of their favorite toys.

Over the past year, the local UPS facility in Dover has “adopted” Dover Children’s Center as their United Way organization of choice. By volunteering with this high-quality early childhood center, UPS is strengthening their connection to United Way’s work in healthy child development.

A big thank you to UPS, Dover Fire Department, and the staff of Dover Children’s Center for organizing a wonderful event.
